CBG is a type of cannabinoid that comes from the cannabis plant. Often, it is referred to as the parent of all cannabinoids since all other ones come from CBG. CBG comes in smaller quantities than other cannabinoids. It is processed by the endocannabinoid system in the body which consists of receptors and molecules that have a responsibility for keeping your body in a good state no matter what is going on around you. CBG does not have any psychotropic effects, unlike THC. This means that you will not experience a “high” from taking any CBG products.

Benefits of CBG

CBG has many benefits and is used for many medical conditions. It has been used similarly to CBD to decrease pain without feeling like you are intoxicated.

CBG also has therapeutic effects and is useful for some of the following medical conditions:

  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Huntington’s disease
  • Glaucoma
  • Fighting Cancer Cells
  • Antibacterial Properties

CBG is compared to CBD often since they share many of the same things and both have an effect on the endocannabinoid system. They are both non-psychoactive, which means they are non-mind-altering. However, one of the biggest differences between the two is the quantity which is found in most cannabis plants. The majority of cannabis plants contain only 1% of CBG and up to 25% of CBD.

CBG is also scarce and hard to find since there are a lot of difficulties with production. It is also harder to make than other cannabinoids like CBD. Many manufacturers prefer to produce CBD since they both share many similarities. CBG is extremely expensive when it is produced but has a host of promising benefits.
